Mind set
At the highest level, athletes are well-matched in terms of their physical abilities, conditioning, and skill level. But often that is not enough to win and perform on the biggest of stages like the Olympic games. Developing strategies and techniques to get athletes minds in the best possible condition for optimal performance is increasingly important for sports teams and coaches.
Dream it
The dream won. For such a long time, I created these projects in my head so I could create with clarity. It was like a vision, a blue print of a project, larger than life, to obtain my dream. I wanted to design a system where sport is about achieving excellence, about working simultaneously individually and collectively to reach a common goal: creating greater access and opportunities for women and girls to participate in sport, and thus ensure dialogue, action and change through gender equality.
One team: one dream
Equestrian sports are eminently an example of gender equality. In equestrian sports, men and women compete against each other all the time and in different disciplines.
Although other Olympic sports may have mixed events, alongside the men’s and women’s competitions, the equestrian sports competitions are the only ones in which all the medals are competed for on equal terms by both men and women.
Wish it
When you refuse to stay in concept stage and pull forward towards a concept with growth potential, you can do anything. Can an underdog take on the best and win? Yes, he or she can, despite all odds, by overcoming devastating defeats. Elite athletes and coaches are cases in point. They set goals that will determine how much drive, how much effort, how much desire they have to perform well. By staying focussed and never giving up, today you can reach amazing heights. And discover the aspiration for success, persist and win. Don’t wait for big things to happen, make them happen: make coincidence happen.
Do it
In service of your dream, create goals that are realistic, relevant and specific. An athlete has to be motivated and confident in her or his abilities, so boost your self-confidence and move the probability in favour of achieving your objectives and results. Ride with passion and win the future.
Past roots & future rites
Sport can inspire. Sport can unite people across cultural divides. Top sport can reinforce shared values of diversity, fairness and respect. Addressing these and other human rights implies significant and systemic change within the world of sport itself. Fortunately, there are some encouraging signs that reforms are beginning to take root.
Top jumping riders Jeroen Dubbeldam, Steve Guerdat, Kevin Staut, Reed Kessler and Malin Bayardargue as well as Jos Lansink and Grégory Wathelet have pleaded for equal opportunities for all jumping riders, They believe that all unions should stand up for the 60-20-20 arrangement proposed by the FEI for all CSI5 *, for instance for commercial competitions such as the Longines Global Champions Tour.
